HMAS Adelaide was the lead ship of the Adelaide class of guided missile frigates built for the Royal Australian Navy, based on the United States Navy's Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates. She was built in the United States and commissioned into the RAN in 1980. During her career, Adelaide was part of Australian responses or contributions to the 1987 Fijian coups d'état, the Iraq invasion of Kuwait, the Indonesian riots of May 1998, the INTERFET peacekeeping taskforce, the War in Afghanistan, and the United States-led invasion of Iraq.
Decommissioned in 2008, HMAS Adelaide was sunk off Avoca Beach in New South Wales in April 2011 and is the site of some spectacular diving. The bridge is still penetrable by the discerning and truly advanced divers, and this spouse knows of one prior serving officer visiting the bridge in his Whiskey 7s. BZ you crazy bastard!
Made from beautifully soft cotton/recycled polyester blend (80/20) anti-pill fleece these heavy-weight jumpers are produced as pullover crew neck sweatshirts with inset sleeves. Sleeve cuff ribbing, and pre-shrunk to minimise shrinkage, they're a regular fit and seriously cosy heavy-weight jumper at 350gsm.
Australian printed and produced product. Australian Navy spouse designed and owned.
