Collection: HMAS Albatross

HMAS Albatross is the Royal Australian Navy’s primary naval air station at Nowra, New South Wales, and the home of the Fleet Air Arm. Commissioned in 1948, it has supported generations of fixed-wing and rotary squadrons, including training units like 723, 724 and 851 Squadron, making it the beating heart of Australian naval aviation. From Vietnam and the Gulf to East Timor and beyond, aircraft and crews prepared at Albatross have projected maritime power, delivered humanitarian aid, and forged a proud legacy in the skies and at sea.
