Collection: HMAS Waller

Commissioned in 1999, HMAS Waller is the third Collins-class submarine of the Royal Australian Navy and bears the name of Captain Hector Waller, a celebrated RAN World War II commander. Waller incorporates advanced Australian-designed sonar arrays, robust hull design, and significant range and endurance for covert, long-distance patrols. She is equipped with Mk 48 torpedoes and Harpoon anti-ship missiles, supporting anti-surface and anti-submarine missions and intelligence collection. Based at HMAS Stirling, Waller has completed extensive operational deployments, including international exercises with allied navies, consistently demonstrating high performance and reliability. HMAS Waller remains a vital and versatile asset in Australia’s undersea defence capability.
