Collection: HMAS Armidale (II)
HMAS Armidale was the lead ship of the Armidale-class patrol boats, designed for border protection, fisheries patrol, and constabulary duties in Australia’s northern approaches. Operating from bases such as HMAS Coonawarra, she and her sister patrol boats enforced sovereignty, conducted search and rescue, and worked closely with Australian Border Force and regional partners. Bearing the name of the heroic WWII corvette whose loss gave rise to Teddy Sheean’s legendary last stand, Armidale carried forward a legacy of courage, duty, and quiet professionalism on every patrol.
